So ready for break... (11/18/2008 ; 6:47 PM)
I'm sitting here bundled up in Julio's jacket, a pair of sweatpants, and my Homer Simpson slippers, with a box of Cheez-Its in my lap and a can of Sunkist at my side, watching Christmas videos on YouTube and wishing it were Friday. It's cold out - Yahoo says that it's 52 degrees here in RO, and it gets down to as low as mid- to late-thirties in the mornings... and I have no carpet in my room, so when I wake up it feels like 14 degrees - and next Thursday is the one day a year when my dad and I go to my brother's house for a full day, where my dad watches football with Corbett while I chase my nieces around the front yard and pretend like I don't really feel how bitingly cold it is, and at the end of the day we all get together in the den and stuff ourselves till we're near to popping and start swearing that we're full until we eye the five chocolate pies Corbett made that are sitting in the fridge, when we all magically become hungry again so we can gobble up as much of the pie as possible before it's all gone. That's right fellas... next week is Thanksgiving Break, and I couldn't be MORE ready for it.
We've been doing Benchmark testing (the practice for our TAKS - standardized statewide testing) all week long. Well, we actually did the Social Studies one last week, so I'm done with that already. And I finished the Science one today. I still have to do the final drafts of the essays and open-ended paragraphs for the English one before that one's finished, and then we start the Math one tomorrow, which that shouldn't take me more than one class period. I've always hated TAKS... but at least this is my last year to take it! =D
I've been using Google Chrome as my browser lately, and it works amazing. The only thing is that it won't let me onto FTP, so I have to use IE for that part. It sucks, but whatever... that's why I still have IE on my computer, in case Chrome screws up. =)
